Errol: Huzzah! πŸ˜€ We only need under $500 or so? Wow. You guys totally rock. Totally. Thanks so much!
Debs: $455? Stay on target! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERROL! Today, I shall bottle feed a goat in your honour.

  1. I’ve been ordered to wish you a happy birthday. Brain the size of a planet and they ask me to wish you a happy birthday. I don’t even see what there is to be happy about, it’s not like you’ve done anything special.

Sorry, am I depressing you? I’ll just go and rust in a corner then. Don’t mind me. Not that you were of course. Nobody ever does.

    • Oh we would make a good team. The happiest man in the universe and the most depressed being in all of space time. ;D (You’d like my friend, Debs) πŸ˜€

  2. Good Morning! To help you celebrate the day of your birth, might I suggest you start the day off with a hearty breakfast?

There are some very lovely parts of my body that will might interest you. My sides are quite nice. I have been eating plenty of grain and I can provide your with delicious fat striped bacon or a casserole of me perhaps.

I have been bred especially with the strongest desire to make you the most spectacular birthday meal that has ever wanted to be eaten. Let’s start this birthday right!

  3. Happy birthday, Errol! Hope you’re having a great day! Like I said on Twitter, I like the Totoro shirt. Donated to your campaign yesterday (early B-Day present!) and tweeted it out.

  4. The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything is… 42!

Happy Birthday Errol! You are the ultimate answer today! πŸ™‚

  5. Happy Birthday- although I don’t know what’s happy about it. If you ask me, a birthday is as mind-numbingly depressing as any other day of the year.

Also, Mercenary Pen would like the mp tag to be changed to a full Mercenary Pen tag, just for ease of searching, though to be honest I don’t know why he cares about it.

  6. Well hey there! I’m just as pleased as punch to wish you a happy birthday!

  7. The stars are aligned, the towels distributed, and the switch flipped. Also, I finally managed to contribute to the EP of spiffyness *woot*

    Happy Birthday, Errol!!!! πŸ˜€

  8. Happy birt–no, don’t talk to me about happy. At least you’re hurtling toward death. I’ll be on this miserable planet forever. But I suppose you should have a good day…or don’t.

I see previous incarnations of me have already showed up. I’m late to the party, what a surprise. I’ll just be over here, in case anyone needs me…not that they will.

  9. In a strange quirk thus far unexplained, one of the incarnations of Marvin the Paranoid Android suddenly morphs into Arthur Dent. The only explanation thus far that seems even remotely plausible is that this was the result of incautious use of the infinite improbability drive- and should never be repeated.

    Oh wait, where am I?

It must be a birthday, I never could get the hang of birthdays.

    • I’m not surprised you didn’t want to be me anymore. If I were smart, I’d do the same and join you…but I’m not smart. I’d probably screw it up anyway.

  10. I’m not a hitchiker, but I want to wish you a happy birthday, anyway, Errol!

  11. Won’t some one please at least try one of my legs? (These comments are going to be very strange once the gravatar returns to normal…)

But here is my day in the limelite! (If I look a little like Peter Davidson of Doctor Who fame, there might be a reason for that! )

  12. I haven’t changed my gravatar or participated in any of the birthday joyousness. I feel like a real-life Marvin today. I spent most of the afternoon asleep instead of marking. But hurrah for birthday happiness. It must be nice to spent a whole year as the Answer to the Ultimate Question.

If you’ll excuse me, I have an appointment with the Ultimate Perspective Vortex.

    • That should be the Total Perspective Vortex (I’m sorry, I’m in the middle of re-reading the trilogy, and will be reading all five books, and maybe even the unofficial sixth book)

  13. Dang it!! I missed my chance to re-enact my favourite joke from the book: Errol as the suddenly conjured whale coming to grips with his birthday as he plummets towards the planet below, and Debs as the bowl of petunias stating only “Oh no, not again” a statement that would be debated by many for years to come.
