Comic 908 – “FACTOR.ca”
Errol: April 1st, we each got this email. We apply for grants all the time with the full expectation of not getting any grant. It’s just what you do. When I received this email, I had to read the last line over four or five times because I was POSITIVE that there was a ‘NOT’ in there before the ‘Approved’ and I just couldn’t see it.
FACTOR.CA is the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent On Recordings. You have no idea how freaking pumped we are that someone deemed us worthy enough to fund us for a song. If you’re curious, here is the program we applied to.
Heck, it being April 1st, I thought it was a April Fools Joke. But given the length of the contract we have to accept, probably not. ^_^
Debs: My co-worker Debi (who knows Errol too and also makes soot sprites) came by and was all, “Errol needs to talk to you.” And I was all “That’s weird…umm…can it wait until break?” And then I logged into my email and saw it and silently freaked out. I tried to chat at Errol but he was off somewhere so I went to Debi’s desk and freaked out with her because Errol had already told her.
Also…we are so crazy lucky that Errol’s sister actually enjoys applying to grants for some reason. She did a crazy ton of work – THANK YOU, LIZETTE! <3
