Comic 535 – “KTBryski”

Errol: I wrote a guest post on K.T. Bryski’s blog about FAWM.ORG, just like the comic says.

But what’s even cooler than that? An interview with Blythe Haynes on itunes! You remember Blythe, she plays Jill on the NaNoMusical. K.T. interviews her about all sorts of stuff: writing, acting, Hapax, and NaNoWriMo!

  1. Since other people have started keeping track of the colour of your knitting, now I can’t not see that you’ve changed back to white yarn. Yakko face? More glow in the dark Totoro’s?

This conversation also never happened :D. For those keeping track of the verisimilitude of these comics :D.

  2. I have to say I was a little disappointed. I was expecting a real picture of you in a cowboy hat.

I actually thought NaNoWriMo was a unique event, and was a little sad to learn recently that there are so many monthly challenges out there. I don’t know why it made me sad…maybe because now I feel like I’m part of a fad. My first NaNoWriMo was in 2007, so I assume before monthly challenges were as big? But I haven’t done it consistently, due to lack of ideas (I always claim it’s because I had a newborn to take care of, or this or that other time issues, but the truth is, if I didn’t have at least a semblance of a plot going in, I didn’t want to attempt it. When it comes to NaNo, I’ve discovered that failure is NOT an option with me).

    • I think Nano started the fad, Kristi!

And… me and hats do NOT agree. When I first put on a hat, my wife LAUGHED at me I looked so ridiculous.

And funny enough, I try really hard not to fail either during Nano. One day, I will let myself fail.

      • Oh, so now you have a problem with looking ridiculous?

I’m sure most people try pretty hard not to fail during NaNo. At least anyone who’s fairly serious about it (that’s not to say that they don’t fail, just that they would be trying not to). Have you had years in the past that you were in danger of failing, but forced yourself to finish?

      • Last year, I took on too much. By the overnighter, I still only had 30k or so. Anyway, I really had to push and actually write at the overnighter.

      • Hey, there might be a story there… about someone who comes to a point where they can allow themself to fail… Kinda dramatic!

And Errol, that just means you haven’t found the right hat…

      • My absolute favorite line EVER:

“Oh, so now you have a problem with looking ridiculous?”

Whoever she may be, where she is, how ever she came to be, I love Kristi now.

  3. Wow there’s a lot of monthly challenges. I need to try some of those! (possibly… I keep saying I’m going to start Nano also but that never happens… )
