Errol: I had my first Reddit Meetup! Manpans thought it was strange that a bunch of people off the internet randomly got together, and it never occured to me they they would have a meetup especially in a bigger city like this. So I went and had a fun time! It’s weird when you don’t have to explain something to people… as I often need to do when I talk about Reddit to other people.

Whitless: Poor Errol had to deal with a lot of “oh god oh god I don’t know anyone why are you making me meet new people” anxiety from me.  Thankfully, everyone was pretty chill and I was only visibly awkward for about 30% of the meet-up.  Any reddit jokes made I laughed along with even though I didn’t get them.  Because I’m cool that way.

Errol: This happened yesterday too.

Last Friday I went to a play with Manda called “All Your Bosses Are Belong to Chinese“. It was part of the InspiraTO Festival and we had a great time! There are two more days left before it ends!

My wife, not an extrovert, wanted a small birthday party for me, so she organized one. My kids were then asking Debs why she wasn’t coming to the birthday party and Debs said she wasn’t invited! That was awkward. My kids invited her, but she was busy anyway. This didn’t surprise me.

Debs: It was still nice to be asked about the Reddit thing, Errol As for the Bday, I totally understand Keren wanting to keep it small. I see you all the time.

Errol: Wait…. what? You don’t see me all the time! I see you… once a week maybe? If that? Of course, that may be plenty for you…

Also if I were there, there would be all kinds of band talk and it would pull a lot of the focus away from the fact that you are super old.

You have no idea how much of my talk is band talk. My poor friends…

Which is important for us to all realize. You are super old! SUPER OLD! I’m excited for you to turn 42! Think of all the meaning of life comics!! But I didn’t actually find it awkward.

And this Saturday I hope to go with Manpans to the Toronto Reddit Meetup! I should be intimidated by this, but hey, at least it’s not a 4chan meetup. (Note that I’m not linking to 4chan)
