Errol: There was so much crazy in 2012, I sometimes wonder, will we be able to keep that up for 2013? Here’s hoping!

      • You have my email address, don’t be shy about using it if there is something I can do to help. I’m depressed over the end of my internships, so projects are FUN!

  1. Yeah, you really should get on the whole “finishing BSG thing” and maybe even the music writing- particularly when you’ve got computer stuff happening that takes ages but requires minimal input from you.

      • Personally I finished BSG just because I HAD to. I was really turning me off as it went along – even by season 2.

OK the original BSG did not age well. Yes, it is rather corny now, but it had a hope in it that was missing from the whole new BSG series. Maybe it’s just that I’m older now, but I still think the core BSG story can be framed as a story of hope and success over obstacles and victory.

Comparing all other Stargate series to Stargate Universe, you see the exact same thing. I finally thought they’d corrected all of the problems by the end of the last episode and was celebrating that they’d turned it around and I thought of course that means they are renewing. I didn’t even think to look to see if it was canceled till all other shows had started their next season..

OK it’s “Drama” – I get that, but sci-fi fans don’t turn on the TV to be depressed every week and have every show end in a new conflict. Comparing the run of all other StarGate series to Universe should demonstrate that. Maybe that’s more “main stream” but there is something to be said for playing to your audience. Not that the SyFy channel knows what that is anymore. (Though I was shocked the other day to find StarTrek the voyage home playing on Syfy. I usually have to turn on BBC America to see science fiction.)

( I think I’ve stated that without any

  2. This is funny because I just started Cognition http://www.postudios.com/cognition/ last night 🙂

I’m somewhat disappointed as they’ve added some language to it in stressful situations to make it “realistic” at least to their personalities..

“Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller, is a chilling point-and-click adventure that follows Erica Reed, a Boston-based FBI agent, haunted by the unsolved case of a serial killer who took her brother’s life. Taking a turn for the strange, Erica unravels her cases with the help of her post-cognition abilities – seeing an object’s past with a touch. But things take a dangerous twist as it becomes clear that someone knows Erica’s secret. Who are they? How do they know what she can, and what do they want from her?”

      • Simple! Eliminate all sleep! Really I don’t. I just have one time I play a week – and then occasionally I start up one at a random time. Last night I’d just gotten the reward for backing the game on Kick Starter. So I HAD to try it!

  3. I LOVE SHERLOCK!!!!!!!!!
How far into the series are you? Series 1 or 2?
    Double Rainbow picture coming soon…

    • Sherlock is awesome! It really was on par with the Sherlock Holmes movie. It’s a shame that the second movie couldn’t keep up that pace.

What have you thought of Elementary?

      • Ugh, I took one look at the female Watson and refused to watch it. I wouldn’t mind it if Sherlock and Watson were both girls because it would be an interesting take. There is only one reason why they would make one a boy and one a girl.
        That would never happen.
        Sherlock does not have relationships.
*sigh* And it is just America trying to cash in on Sherlock’s success. I’m not saying it’s a bad show, I’m sure it’s good entertainment, I just won’t watch it.

In other news, I think I changed my picture to the double rainbow one…

      • I have to admit, I don’t like it when they NEED to make a romance between a male and a female.

I know people like romances, but you know, sometimes it’s great when there ISN’T one.

      • I wouldn’t mind a female watson if there wasn’t a forced romance between her and Sherlock. It’s the same with the Doctor’s companions. They always become more interesting after they get over their various crushes.

      • My favourite companions of the reboot have been Amy and Rory because Rory’s a sweet character and Amy’s pretty cool. Also, they were married so no romance between Amy and the Doctor could happen.
(I hated Rose, but then again, that was for a variety of reasons…)

      • yeah I was glad to see Rose go. She was ok in the first season with the morose doctor but then the two of them became super camp and incredibly annoying.

      • I thought that was their plan, that there wasn’t, and would never be, a relationship between the male and female pair. That’s what they said at the start.

Casting wise, I’ve nothing against Lucy Lui, but I’d have much rather seen an actor who could match either a real life Holmes or Watson persona in shear intelligence fill either role.
Yes, I’ve someone in mind. Coincidentally would keep the Asian casting they apparently wanted. Julia Ling should be in the show. I would have loved to see her play Holmes. Check out her latest report card and all the 5 credit courses in which she got A+ at school . http://www.facebook.com/lingtime?ref=ts&fref=ts

Read more in her bio at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1788146/bio Where it tells of her perfect SAT score and 4.0 average in highschool, The “Best Acting Award” she got in 2011, placing 4th in Jackie Chan’s international Disciples martial arts competition. Oh and she graduated from the Royal Board of Music and was a Miss America Pageant state finalist at age 16.

She’s back at school right now but she had taken some time off to do some acting from “pursuing a career in medicine, Ling majored in biomedical chemical engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. She was Treasurer of Chemical Engineering Society, Vice President of the Engineering Society of UCLA and honorary member of the Society of Women Engineers.”

Yeah, THAT’s the type person we should be honoring as celebrities and rewarding with respectable roles. Not the type of people we see in the news for their arrests.

    • I’m watching it with my wife, so I’m waiting for her. We have Season 1 and 2. 😀 Have only seen first episode. *laugh* (I saw it twice)

      • Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders – The most famous of which is “never get involved in a land war in Asia” – but only slightly less well-known is this: “Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line”! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha…

      • Another big one is “never invade Russia during the middle of winter”- but you probably already knew that.

However, possession of a mongol army seems to negate many of these blunders…

      • “never invade Russia during the middle of winter” is covered under “never get involved in a land war in Asia”

      • So… the poison was in both pills but the old man had managed to get an immunity to a poison that is deadly? It’s INCONCEIVABLE!!!

  4. Seriously, your comments section hates me. Earlier today, I tried to post a little rant about Elementary and how it has somehow succeeded in seeming like a rip-off of other misanthropic-genius procedurals, despite the fact that the Holmes material is the ultimate source material for a lot of these procedurals. The rant disappeared. I logged in, but the site wouldn’t recognise that I had. Now, suddenly, it has acknowledged the fact that I am, indeed, logged in, even though I haven’t actually done anything since giving up in disgust several hours ago. Why does your website hate me? I’m pretty sure it’s doing this on purpose.

Incidentally, Sherlock is the best. Maybe not better than My Neighbour Totoro, but getting there.
