D&E Hiatus Day 10: WWOOFing Wednesday!

Since Debs and Errol are currently being quarantined over the month of December, for unspecified public safety reasons, I thought I would share two videos of Debs’ adventures WWOOFing last year.

No, she was not baying at the moon.  WWOOFing means taking the opportunity to spend volunteering, living and working on organic farms.  There are 99 countries around the world that have farms that participate in the World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) program.  Over the summer of 2013, Debs had the opportunity to visit a number of these WWOOF farms in Canada.  It’s fun and a great way to stretch your horizons as the hosts families are known to be kind and generous..  And apparently don’t even get angry when some one does something unexpected, like plow through a fence with their farm’s large tractor…

I got to speak with Debs about this experience while they were down here in Ohio for the Ohio Valley Filk Fest. I definitely admire her for taking advantage of this opportunity. Not everyone living in a big city like Toronto would be comfortable around animals like these:
